Process & Timeline
What happens, and what will you need to do?
The project has two broad stages: preparing the property, design and approvals properly, then managing the construction and handover on site.
Property, design & approvals
-
Step 01
Property check
We review the address, backyard, access and obvious property constraints to decide whether the project looks worth taking further.
-
Step 02
Initial direction & budget
We discuss the brief, likely layout, level of finish and an initial view of the overall project budget.
-
Step 03
Design & investigations
We coordinate the required survey, site investigations, design development and engineering for the property.
-
Step 04
Approvals & confirmed scope
We prepare the required documentation, coordinate the approval pathway and confirm the scope before construction begins.
Construction & handover
-
Step 05
Construction
We manage the site, trades, deliveries, inspections and progress updates throughout the build.
-
Step 06
Inspection & handover
We complete the final inspections, address outstanding items and hand over the completed granny flat.
The programme is confirmed once the required investigations, approval pathway and project scope are known. Timing can vary with the property, approvals, site conditions, weather and client decisions.
